What does a 70 y.o. man listen to. Well a little bit of everything actually. Except RAP that is. I've listened to some. Just not my thing. I have over 180 CD's with about 2600 songs. I had over 1200 - 33 1/3 LP's, before I made the switch about 5-6 years ago. I just got my first Ipod Classic a few weeks ago and love it. I have BLUES. B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, Roy Buchanan, Taj Mahal. CLASSIC COUNTRY - Patsy Cline, Ferlin Husky, Hank Williams Sr., MODERN COUNTRY - Alabama, The Charlie Daniel's Band, David Allen Coe, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt and of course Willie Nelson. I have some CLASSICAL. Chopin and Bach. EASY LISTENING - Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, ELECTRONICA - Billy Paul Williams. (not really sure what this stuff is, but I like it.) FOLK Jim Croce, Simon & Garfunkel. Some R & B - Johnny Adams, Patti Austin. GOSPLE - Elvis (Yes he sang gospel) JAZZ - Art Blakey, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Errol Gardner, Alexander Zonjic. Plus some remastered big bands of the 30's & 40's. Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Les Brown, etc. POP - Abba, 50's and 60's ROCK The Platters, Beach Boys, Elvis. That's just some of what I listen to. I don't think I've listened to the radio in my truck in years. I always have a CD in the deck. (Very soon I'll have my Ipod connected to the deck. So won't be limited to just 12 CD's at a time.)
Sorry no busted pumpkins or 10 inch nails. My grand kids listen to that stuff. LOL

I read a great deal of fiction. James Michener, Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Danielle Steel, (yes I like the mushy, romantic ones also.) etc. I also enjoy biography books. Norman Schwarzkopf, Colin Powell, Lee Iacoca and Barbara Bush's to name a few. I've tried several of the "for Dummies" books, with little success. Guess I'm just to much of a dummy.
I get most of my NEWS from on line news papers. I stopped watching "broadcast news" during the O.J. trial. (The first one.)
Don't read any magazines on a regular basis anymore. Will occasionally pick one up at the book store if I see an article that peaks my interest.

I'm 6' tall 268 lb. As you can see from the photo (I'll be adding more soon) I have gray/white hair and hazel eyes. My lover and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We just got a summer place in Spring City, TN. We'll be there from April until Oct each year. If you live near or plan to travel to Knoxville or Chattanooga, please give us a call and let's get together.
We are 2 mature, but not over the hill, GWM's. I'm your average overweight, out of shape, OLD FART. I started going to the gym 3-4 times a week with hopes of losing some weight. However after almost 2 years, I've only managed to lose about 20 lb. I guess I just enjoy eating to much. I'll keep slugging away and hopefully 2 years from now I'll be able to report I'm down another 20-25 lb. If nothing else I'm persistent.
I think of myself as a down to earth, happy go lucky sort of guy. I don't take myself, or most other things for that matter, to seriously. While I enjoy some sports, I'm not really what you would call a "fan." I usually lose interest after about an hour or so if watching on TV.
I'm happy , humorous, and huggable. I enjoy good food, good friends and beautiful sunsets. I'm fiercely loyal to family and friends. My partner, my children, my grand children and my friends, in that order, are the most important things in my life. I can replace "things." At this point in my life, family and friends are much harder to replace. I like going to the theater and traveling the USA & Canada by car or R.V. These days I fly ONLY as a last resort.
When it comes to politics, I consider myself a moderate that has a tendency to lean to the right rather than the left on many issues. I vote for the man I think is best suited to the job and not the party he's affiliated with. So if you are a Bush hating, far left, liberal, or a "Rush" loving far right conservative, we're probably not going to see eye to eye on many things. I do enjoy spirited conversations on almost any subject. On some subjects however, I'm very opinionated. I will not try to force those opinions on my friends, and expect the same courtesy from them. If you have some valid reason for your beliefs, backed up by facts, I'm more than willing to listen and you might even persuade me to your point of view.
I will be adding to this page in the weeks/months to come. In the meantime, if you want to know more about us, you'll just have to ask.
