Please connect to the link and send in your thoughts and concerns even if you are not a US citizen or GLBT. The democratic politicians need to also hear the viewpoint of those who wish to emigrate to the US. The link is:

The following is what I wrote to Gov. Dean.
As an American citizen, a member of the local Democratic caucus, and a state convention “uncommitted” delegate/ I am requesting the National Democratic Party introduce legislation that will insure equal rights for all Americans. My particular personal concerns regard American GLBT’s not having equal rights and that relationship to federal immigration regulations.
I am a college educated, working, middle class U.S citizen who happens to be gay. My partner is a Philippine national who wants to emigrate from the Philippines to the U.S. He is a college graduate and is fluently bi-lingual. We have known each other and have been committed to one another for approximately two years. Here on a visitor’s visa for 5 months he returned when it expired December 1, 2007. We investigated all means that would allow us to stay together permanently and legally but to no avail. We seriously considered the possibility of him staying illegally but, in the end, he decided it best that I remain law abiding. He said it was one thing for him to be illegal but he didn’t want me to be “illegal.”
Unfortunately, it is easier for aliens to stay illegally than to immigrate legally. Since we are gay any type of civil union or “state marriage” does not give us equal federal rights including immigration. If my partner were a “she” there would be no problem. We could legally get married. Where is my American equal justice?
Please lead the Democratic Party into understanding that all Americans need to have equal rights and that includes equal rights for GLBT’s to marry. I hope to be considered to you and every other American before I die (I’m 59). Thank your for hearing my voice and putting action behind the whispers of the candidates whispers. Out of respect I hope to get an acknowledgement of my concerns. I need to know that my voice has been heard. Thank you for your consideration.
